About Satscams.com

Welcome to satscams.com. This site is provided by NagraStar to help educate and inform people about the civil and criminal actions taken by NagraStar and their partners, DISH Network and Bell TV. These actions are taken against those who try to obtain DISH Network or Bell programming in a fraudulent manner including, but not limited to, receiving programming without authorization by and payment to DISH Network and Bell TV; or illegally designing, manufacturing, marketing, selling, or using devices that could allow access to DISH Network or Bell TV satellite signals without authorization and payment.
NagraStar encourages discussions about the information posted on satscams.com. We do ask, however, that you are familiar with the rules on satscams.com when engaging in these discussions. Failure to follow the rules can result in the deleting of posts, suspension of posting rights, and banning of offending members. Received a Letter?
Have you received a USPS certified letter similar to the one shown in the picture? Here at NagraStar, we send all first letters certified for tracking and legal purposes. These letters contain sensitive information, and for that reason, NagraStar must ensure that the letter reaches its intended recipient. Many choose to deny signing for the letter, and thus it is returned. Commonly, certified mail is sent by lawfirms and government agencies, and refusing the letter could result in legal ramifications. If you receive such a letter, NagraStar highly recommends accepting it. If you choose to ignore these letters and emails from NagraStar, you could be referred to our Law Firm for litigation. Do not ignore the letter, and please contact NagraStar as soon as possible to resolve this legal matter.

Three Puerto Rican Men Arrested on Federal Charges in Dish Network Services Piracy Scheme
On Nov. 2, a federal indictment against three Puerto Rican men was unsealed after their arrest for their roles in a conspiracy to provide pirated DISH Network (DISH) services to thousands of Puerto Ricans, announced Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice Department鈥檚 Criminal Division and U.S. Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodriguez-Velez for the District of Puerto Rico. DISH is a Colorado based company that provides satellite television to its customers for a fee and has invested heavily in measures to ensure that its services are not intercepted by copyright infringers, also known as pirates.

Florida Federal Court Grants Judgment and Injunction Against SetTV
DISH Network L.L.C. and NagraStar LLC (collectively 鈥淒ISH鈥) are pleased to announce the successful resolution of their federal court action against Set Broadcast LLC and its principals (collectively 鈥渢he SetTV Defendants鈥 and together with DISH 鈥渢he Parties鈥). The judgment and injunction against the SetTV service marks a significant victory in the ongoing fight against pay-TV piracy, and a win for consumers who subscribe to legitimate pay-TV services. DISH filed suit against the SetTV Defendants on May 3, 2018 based on their operation of a streaming television platform (鈥淪etTV鈥) that was used to rebroadcast programming content obtained from a DISH Network satellite signal without authorization. The SetTV service was in operation for approximately 16 months, from February 2017 through June 2018.

A Statement from a Pirate in Puerto Rico
For not investigating well before, I ended up using piracy. My name is [REDACTED] and I'm from Puerto Rico. 9 years ago I tried to watch television paying less than a subscription without having knowledge that it was not legal. When I knew it was not legal, I got out of that deal. About a month ago I received a certified letter from Nagrastar with a case in court because of what I did. I contacted Nagrastar and they were flexible with me, giving me a fine and payment plan for it. What I did was not with knowledge, but I did it and I am aware that I have to pay. The law does not fail and now for that mistake I have to pay. I urge everyone who reads this to see it as a piece of advice and ignore the wonders they offer you online. Everything good has its cost and all the errors have to be paid.

A Statement from a Pirate in Wisconsin
I am writing this to let you know that I was using a pay reseller code from nfps back in 2014 I believe, and now 4 years later have been found out from a credit card record on the service end. The service sucked pretty bad but I thought eh for $70 year ill try it. It was beyond horrible so much that i never used it much as trying to get help was done by kissing arse on the forums and then being told to keep searching the forum . But I did pay for unauthorized access thinking that end users had nothing to risk. I received an email from satscams and thought first it was a phishing scam but didn't want to chance it being real as it is 2 weeks to respond or be sued in in federal court for over $10000 and all court fees. Found out it was real and decided to call the number and settle as there really is no other option except go to big boy court and I have no time or money.

A Regret and a Warning from a Pirate in Puerto Rico
Piracy isn鈥檛 worth the risks, or the consequences.
My name is Francisco Llinas and I operate an entity known as FJ Internet. While the bulk of my products and services relate to internet services and installations, I previously got involved in the purchase and sale of a handful of devices and codes that could be used for unauthorized access to DISH Network programming through IKS and IPTV piracy. That was a huge mistake, and one that I will regret for years to come.
My involvement in those product sales resulted in DISH and NagraStar filing a lawsuit against me, my company, and certain family members in Puerto Rico federal court. After the Court sided with DISH and NagraStar on some preliminary rulings, and after spending significant resources on legal fees, a judgment and permanent injunction was entered against me. Not only has the litigation taken a toll on the legitimate aspects of my business, but it caused major problems and stress for my entire family. I have now agreed to shut down that part of my business, and have agreed to assist and cooperate with DISH and NagraStar, providing them information related to who sold me the piracy products and codes, and customers who purchased them.
Prior to DISH filing suit, NagraStar investigators visited me in Puerto Rico with a proposal to avoid formal litigation and have me exit the piracy business. Unfortunately I was short sighted and did not take responsibility for my misconduct at that time. The investigators for NagraStar were very prepared and discussed the evidence they had gathered against me. They were also aware of the temptations of piracy in Puerto Rico and other places. Like any risky or illicit business, there are consequences and costs associated with piracy. The NagraStar investigators are extremely thorough and committed to identifying and taking action against people and businesses involved in piracy of their technology and the DISH service.
Through this experience I have learned the hard way that piracy is not a 鈥榟armless鈥 violation; neither to the companies that have legitimate broadcast rights, nor to providers or customers using unauthorized services to access those rights. Learn from others鈥 mistakes. Don鈥檛 let my story become your own.
