Full throttle Remastered: First Look Trailer
Posted by Spaff
One minute you鈥檙e on the road, riding, not a care in the world. Then some guy in a suit comes along and says he鈥檚 got a deal for you and your gang. But when you come to, you鈥檝e got a lump on your head, the law on your back, and a feeling in your gut that the road you鈥檙e on is about to get a lot rougher鈥
Originally released by LucasArts in 1995, Full Throttle is a classic graphic adventure game from industry legend Tim Schafer, telling the story of Ben Throttle; butt-kicking leader of biker gang the Polecats, who gets caught up in a tale of Motorcycles, Mayhem and Murder.
Now over 20 years later, Full Throttle is back in a remastered edition that features all new hand-drawn and 3D high-resolution artwork with remastered audio and music.
Players will be able to switch back and forth between classic and remastered modes, and mix-n-match audio, graphics and user interface options to their heart鈥檚 desire. Also included is a concept art browser with work from Peter Chan, and a commentary track with the game鈥檚 original creators.
Full Throttle was the first game with Tim Schafer as sole project lead, and a much beloved cult classic! This special edition has been lovingly restored and remade with the care and attention that can only come from involving the game #8217;s original creators. It鈥檚 headed to PS4, PS Vita and PC in 2017!

Day of the Devs 2016: Highlights
Posted by Spaff
Thanks to everyone who came to Day of the Devs 2016 and made it such a fun day!
If you were at the show then you may have noticed the folks from 2 Player Productions wandering around filming things, as they tend to do most of the time. They #8217;ve edited their footage down into this little highlights reel! Maybe you #8217;ll spot yourself wandering around in the background with a beer in your hand, going slightly mad as you try to work out which of the incredible games in display you need to play next #8230; or caught unawares whilst lost in a VR demo.
If you weren #8217;t there, maybe this video will be the catalyst that lures you into coming next year. See you then!

Double Fine and Diversity
Posted by Tim Schafer
I have always considered Double Fine to be an inclusive company, but lately it has become clear to me and the whole team that we need to do more. We need to take action to increase the diversity of our team for the health of our company, its culture, and the games that we make. To that end, we would would like to specifically encourage folks from underrepresented groups to consider a career at Double Fine.
Creating the best games requires fresh ideas from a variety of new voices. We value those voices and give them an environment to contribute and be heard. We want our perspectives to always be challenged #8212;to benefit our team #8217;s quality of life, and also the quality of our games.
This commitment is in line with the core values of our company. Double Fine is a friendly, safe work environment where harassment, bullying, and discrimination are not tolerated. (And luckily, not common since we have hired such a great group of people!)
Double Fine is deeply committed to the work/life balance of every employee. We value team members #8217; important commitments outside of the company. We support flexible hours, working from home, and an open PTO policy to help them take care of those commitments. Our family leave benefits apply to all employees from their first day of work. There is no #8220;cliff #8221; or probationary period.
Double Fine values input from every team member. We have dedicated feedback meetings where everyone is encouraged to provide ideas for and critiques of our games. In our company wide game jams, every employee can pitch their own game ideas.
This is an issue that we will be continually working on in the future, and we #8217;d love help from you! Please mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with your ideas about how we can increase our outreach to, and inclusion of, underrepresented groups. I promise they will be read.
In the mean time, please check out our jobs page and consider a career at Double Fine!
Thank you for reading this, and for supporting diversity at Double Fine #8212;and the world in general!

Double Fine Presents #8230; Knights and Bikes
Posted by Spaff
We鈥檙e proud to announce that KNIGHTS AND BIKES from Foam Sword will be published by Double Fine Productions, and will be playable for the first time at Day of the Devs in San Francisco this Saturday!
KNIGHTS AND BIKES is a hand-painted action-adventure set in the late 1980s on a fictional British island steeped in ancient history. It comes from the blended-brains of Rex Crowle (Tearaway amp; LittleBigPlanet) and Moo Yu (LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet amp; Clank)
In KNIGHTS AND BIKES Players will take on the roles of Nessa amp; Demelza, a couple of kids exploring the island with their bikes. Together they鈥檒l uncover treasure, but also mystery and trouble! The threats they encounter they鈥檒l face head-on, pedalling into danger with frisbees, water balloons, and improvising in the way that only kids can.
With the island in peril, rescuing locals will teach Nessa amp; Demelza new abilities, allowing our heroines to do more and travel further. So as the girls face-up to the adult world, it鈥檚 their ingenuity, friendship, and wide-eyed-wonder that鈥檒l save their ancient island from modern ruin.
KNIGHTS AND BIKES is designed for one or two players (playing locally or online) and was funded successfully via Kickstarter in March 2016.
#8220;We #8217;ve had incredible support from our Kickstarter backers, and we have been working flat-out to deliver the adventure that we #8217;ve promised to everyone! But as we are just a team of two working in tandem, its good to have a few more gang-members, to pedal alongside us, sharpen the jousting poles and make sure we don #8217;t crash, get a flat-tyre, or flip over the handlebars. #8221; Said Rex Crowle, really overdoing the bike metaphors.
#8220;Wait, first tell me what they said about us, #8221; said Double Fine president and CEO Tim Schafer. #8220;Was it nice? Or just kind of okay? Because if I say something nice and then they don #8217;t mention us, I #8217;ll look really desperate.鈥 The games industry veteran elaborated, 鈥淚 #8217;ll just say I love Knights, Bikes, Moo, and Rex, and that Double Fine is super happy to be presenting their amazing game, unless their quote was meh #8212;in that case just make my quote the shrug emoticon. #8221; 炉_(銉)_/炉
Shrugging back, Moo Yu took the higher-ground. #8220;I #8217;ve spent so many hours plunging myself into the imaginative worlds that Double Fine has conjured, getting to know their intriguing characters inside and out. In Knights and Bikes, I want players to feel that same connection and curiosity as they meet our cast of misfits and delve into the mysteries of the island of Penfurzy.鈥
Come and play Knights and Bikes this Saturday in San Francisco at indie gaming festival Day of the Devs, which will feature 60 unreleased games, with live music from SCNTFC, Jim Guthrie, Phil Fish and Baiyon. For more information please see

Posted by Spaff

Day of the Devs will take place on Saturday, November 5 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Midway (900 Marin Street) in San Francisco鈥檚 Dogpatch District.
#8220;We had so many great games last year, #8221; said Double Fine President and CEO Tim Schafer, #8220;We just assumed that people #8217;s appetite would be satisfied forever. But they want to see more games! At least, according to Twitter, Facebook, and #8230; what #8217;s that yellow ghost thing called? That swaps faces? #8221; Tim then slipped into a tirade about the ubiquity of social media choices that went on for fifteen minutes and included a condemnation of current LEGO models that come practically pre-built, before coming back to the topic, #8220;In my day, you had to use your IMAGINATION. But anyway, we #8217;re fixing all that with Day of the Devs. It #8217;s bigger and better than ever! #8221;
The growing list of featured games at Day of the Devs includes:

THOTH is out now!
Posted by Spaff
Our latest Doubel Fine Presents title THOTH is out now for PC and Mac! Created by Jeppe Carlsen who was the lead puzzle designer on LIMBO and Inside, and also creator of recent DFP game 140, THOTH is an innovative and intense new entry in the twin-stick shooter genre, which you can conquer alone or cooperatively with a friend! (We highly recommend the co-op mode!)
Though it鈥檚 deeply rooted in the arcade tradition, THOTH also brings something unique to the table. Each stage in the game is specifically designed to require both puzzle solving and finesse to get through. Players constantly need to think about positioning and timing while making sure to both dodge enemies and avoid collisions.
Aesthetically, THOTH is a vibrant rush of colors, shapes, and patterns by artist Niels Fyrst, accompanied by a brutal soundtrack from electronic music pioneers Cristian Vogel amp; S脴S Gunver Ryberg. The imposing aesthetics and the relentlessly demanding gameplay eventually induces a trance-like state in the player.
THOTH is out now on Steam, and Humble, with a 20% discount in launch week.
